Peabody Square Going Green

In the Globe this Sunday there is an article about the city's plan to make the renovated Peabody Square green. It will be a model for environmentally sensitive urban planning including: special sidewalks that are permeable (to avoid storm water runoff into the Neponset RIver and Boston Harbor), extra tree plantings, wide pits to help trees absorb rainwater, and the Square's access to public transit and its new transit-oriented housing.
