Sweet Life Bakery and Café

After months of waiting, Lower Dot finally has a new bakery! Located in the heart of Lower Mills (in the old Common Ground location), Sweet Life Bakery and Café offers an array of wonderful baked goods and cakes, while also offering a full breakfast and lunch menu. Their hours span from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, which means you can fulfill your latte and muffin fix at any point during the day.

We had lunch there recently. Chris had the chicken salad sandwich on brioche, while Erin decided on the turkey Florentine panini and orzo pasta salad. We both thoroughly enjoyed an assortment of cookies for dessert. Sweet Life has a daily sandwich special and offers many wonderful breakfast treats, such as brioche french toast, omelets, and on certain days waffles or croque-monsieurs.

I want to like it. I really do. I'll have to go back a second time.

I really liked it, I know it was new when I tried it last week, so I had to try it again. They're definitely on the right track; I say by the end of the month, they'll be the best breakfast spot around. I also love that I can go there in the afternoons and use the free internet to get some work done outside the house with a good coffee.

They close at 6, not 6:30.

I went back a few days ago. I didn't really have an opportunity to really put it to the test. I had an iced tea and a muffin. I sat at the bar. It was on Saturday just after noon time. I was shocked to be the only person sitting in there. The place is set up very nice, but it felt very strange sitting in a big restaurant all by myself. I hope this place makes it. I really would a good breakfast/lunch spot.

horrible. good intention, but bad execution. simple menu, but cannot get it right. maybe, in time? meanwhile, you're better off at home, or anywhere else!

Sorry to deliver bad news but food was horrible. Baked goods were stale and hard with the taste of refrigerator. Food was undercooked and lacked flavor. Purchased a large order we were all disappointed. 3rd try with sweet life each time bad results. Sorry nice people bad food.

Hmmm, when I went a few months ago I really enjoyed their sandwich selection. And the hot chocolate (although it was summer) was the best I've had in a looooooonnngggg time!! none of that water based stuff. I'm headed over there again today. So we'll see how the food holds up...

5/1/14 , 4th time I went to buy some bake good, they were very stale again, they never give you a receipt. I try to give this place my business, but what with the stale bake goods. I am so glad they closed town the ledge also the food was not good also there, I believe the same owners. I have live here for 10 yrs in, Lower Mills Love the neighbor, just not the food.

Awesome baked goods. Try the Irish Soda bread toasted with lots of melted unsalted butter for a fabulous treat! Ate lunch twice and not disappointed. Highly recommend this spot.
