Calling All Dot Residents... Help Tell Trader Joe's About Here!

How many of you wished we had a Trader Joe's in Lower Dot? Erin grew up in California where it seems like Trader Joe's are in every city. If you are not familiar with the store, it is a great and very resonably priced place to get natural and organic groceries. Here in the Boston area they tend to be located mostly in the suburbs (especially north and west, like Cambridge, Newton, and Needham), but we think one would do really great here, and be a popular addition to our neighborhood.

The Trader Joe's website has a contact web page for places that need new Trader Joe's and we were hoping people from our neighborhood would take a minute to fill out this form and show Trader Joe's this could be a great place to consider for a future store...

If you agree, please click here and let them know!

And if you know others in the area who feel the same way please spread the word...

Thanks for the link to the Trader Joe's "request a location" form. I filled it out and said we need one in Davis Square, too. A building is currently going up here that will have a CVS on the first floor. We have absolutely no need for a CVS here. Perhaps Trader Joe's can try to outbid CVS for this space before the building is finished?

I'd suggest the lousy shopping center at Field's Corner for a Trader Joes. Field's Corner is a good central location, on the T, plenty of parking, and has a need for a stable supermarket. It might also have the effect of encouraging some other new businesses in there.

I have lived in the Ashmont Area for over fifty years and have been a member of All Saints Church during those years. All Saints and The Peabody were built with funding from the very generous family of Oliver & Mary Lothrop Peabody and in order to honor their generosity, it was so named.
I am thrilled to see all the improvements taking place but definitely do not see the need to change Peabody Square to Ashmont Square.
On another topic, even the most remote possibility that a Trader Joe's could be located in the Square is something about which my family and many of our neighbors would be thrilled.

Thanks for all the comments about our Trader Joe's suggestion! Hopefully we can get more people to write to them. We certainly think there is a need somewhere in Dot for one.

As for the "Ashmont Square" confusion, we apologize for the misunderstanding. We certainly call it Peabody Square (and will always), we just put Ashmont/Peabody Square as a way of saying Ashmont Station and Peabody Square. We have clarified that on the blog.

Great idea!! A TJ in the area would definately make my life easier and improve an already fabulous neighborhood. Thanks!

Just moving back here from California...I too miss Trader Joe's. The closest one has no parking (Boylston) Not very convenient. I like the Milton Market and Lamberts, but TJ would be great! I noticed they just tore down the old Burger King on Morrisey by the Comfort Inn. Looks like another shopping center is going on...Maybe they could go there.
